Whatever business you are in, there is unlikely to be a shortage of conferences, meetings, workshops, that you could choose to attend. The demand for our time is never-ending and the fear of missing out (FOMO) is at ridiculously high levels.
So yes we could attend that conference or your conference, but why would we? We have limited time and resources, so why should we attend this specific one? Weirdly, this is a tough question to answer for most. Usually the answer has something to do with networking, etc. and yet when pressed there is an inability to specific about who we will network with and why this is important.
Asking why is helpful, starting with why is powerful as Simon Sinek reminds us. I think this is helpful for managing requests to attend conferences, workshops, meetings, etc. as well as marketing them.
