It’s easy to talk about rights, what we are entitled to, what we want. We’ve even instituted rights in various declarations – human rights, the US constitution, the Canadian Charter of Rights, and so on. It’s much harder to talk about responsibilities. Even at work, we talk about employee rights, but little about responsibilities.

When we interact with our customers or when we enact change in our organisations do we ever consider think about rights and responsibilities? Would it help? I don’t know, but I do wonder if it would help or at least provide an interesting perspective.
