In every endurance activity, participants get tired. Triathletes, Marathon runners, ultra-runners, tough mudders, and so on all get tired. Part of the training they go through is to figure out how to deal with the tired. Where to put it. It’s not a denial of its existence, but rather an acceptance of it and then conscious choices.
When you work in organisational change, you’re going to experience self-doubt of some form or another. You’ll question if you are doing the right thing, using the right approach, making the right decisions. You’re overall vision and idea may not waver, but in the thousands of everyday decisions, doubt will show up.
So it’s not a question of if, but rather what will you do with it when it does show up. Where will you put it?
