Sexism is all around us. And this week I was called out. I think it was on zoom meeting 32 of the week. We were talking about a new role. A digital transformation role. I used the pronouns she and her when talking about what the person in the role would do and the type of person required.

The facilitator stopped proceedings asking if we had someone in mind already because she and her were being used.

No, we didn’t. And interestingly, proceedings were not stopped earlier when others used he and him to discuss the same things I did.

And here’s the thing that surprised me the most, the facilitator was a woman.

I desperately hope things will be different when my daughter is my age.
