If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.African Proverb
This is true in most areas of life even individual sports. But it no where more true than organisational change and digital transformation. Change is cultural. It changes the ‘this’ in – People like us, do things like this – to something new. And that is no easy task and can’t be achieved by yourself.
Digital transformation is no different. Digital transformation almost always requires networks or ecosystems of other organisations, let alone individuals.
And yes, building and becoming a responsible organisation is not something we do alone, we need the others. It is not easy or even smooth. Building and becoming a responsible organisations requires diversity of perspective, experience, and worldview. And this result in disagreement and conflict of opinion and direction. However, this is a responsible organisation’s hidden strength. It’s through the challenging, and at times rough, debates that is becomes more responsible. And so, responsible organisations embrace, no seek out, diversity.
It is in the diversity and in the debates that we ‘go far’.
