Engage or Send a Memo

engage or send a memo

Do you remember in person team meetings? workshops? Those times when we would gather in person with those we work with to discuss issues to do with our work.

Small group discussions are a staple of most meetings and workshops.

Waiting for someone else to lead or go first is not the same as listening. There is something generous about going first. If, of course, it is done with the attitude of generousity and getting things going and not arrogance. Listening is a whole different matter. So is ‘stepping back’.

Workshops and meetings work when we contribute, engage. ‘Here I made this’ or ‘Here is my perspective’ make workshops work. Engagement is key, without it, we might as well read a memo.

The choice is up to us.
