The Insanity Risk

insanity

There is a fine line between insanity and perseverance or persistence. Some define insanity as ‘doing the same thing, but expecting different results.’ Perseverance or persistence are defined very similar. ‘To be insistent in repetition or continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition.’

We often only know if we’ve crossed the line into insanity with hindsight. And usually we make the judgement based on whether or not the change we sought was achieved. However, even then, sometimes we change our judgement after longer time periods.

The risk of being deemed insane is one the change maker lives with. She is comfortable with the risk as she knows she is persevering.
