Wake up calls are never expected. Or never come at the expected time. They tend to shock, overwhelm and be inconvenient. That is the nature of them and outside our control.
How we respond is up to us.
This is true with teams, organisations, families and individuals. And in all areas of our lives, digital, analogue, parenting, teaching, our health, and so on. Wake up calls are opportunities to blame, to self-hatred, or to learn, grow, and change. And here’s the thing, wake up calls don’t have to happen directly to us. They can happen to others and they still present us with the same opportunities.
The choice is up to us.
