Is this real life or just a policy? For some of us, we only do things if it is a formally adopted organisational policy or guideline. For others, we only do things if there are step by step instructions of how to do it. But others do not wait for formality or instructions, we use what we can by doing.
For some, the first two approaches come from fear, while the other comes from learning or being haphazard cowboy like.
The thing is all of us may have a dominate approach, but we have all responses. Just perhaps in different areas of our lives and work. Additionally, culture plays a role in our approach – both societal/ethnic culture and organisational culture.
Reminding ourselves that a ‘one-size fits all’ approach to change rarely works.
