Being in one place means you are not in others. Sounds ridiculously obvious and yet we often behave in a way that tries to deny its reality. Organisations create strategies to appeal to a broad market – that’s strategic speak for teying to be in multiple places at the same time.
It doesn’t work for individuals or for organisations.
And yet, most of us are terrified of focusing. Terrified of admitting our humanity and the laws of time and space.
Pause for a moment and consider where are you trying to show up in multiple places at the same time, trying to be different versions of youself for multiple people.
And then choose to be present, to focus, to be yourself here and now for one audience this week.
And record all the emotions you feel.
Then go, embrace your humanity. You’ll be glad you did.
