Change comes in different forms. Changing from one accounting system to another is different from changing your business model. Often there can be similar emotions felt around the different types of change, but they are usually on different scales.

This seems obvious, but too often our approach is mismatched with the type of change occuring.

It can be helpful to imagine it as a spectrum. With process on one side and paradigm on the other. However, often there are aspects of the change that is a mixture of both. And each person experiences change differently too.

Being clear on the type of change you are endeavouring to create and how people are experiencing it is one of the fundamental roles of change makers.
