Sitting in the back garden staring at my screen for days on end, can be both lonely and bliss. I remember doing my first webinar presentation – it was weird. No visual queues to interpret, heck I didn’t even know if the connection was working or if I was just talking to myself. There was a deadness to the space that I had not yet learned to bring alive – I had not adjusted my style to the medium, so I was met with silence. This form of silence I find challenging as it can feel like I’m talking to myself. I find I appreciate those who disagree as they acknowledge my existence, even if they disagree with the message. There is engagement which is the whole point of communication.
