Christmas brings out the feel good ads

One of the first ads I saw for Apple’s Siri featured a blind person interacting with her iPhone using her voice.  My reaction to that ad was two-fold:  Artificial Intelligence has gone mainstream now; and how amazing is it that a person with a disability was featured in this ad to communicate ‘new’ technology.

Yesterday, I can across this ad from Huawei in which it showed technology enabling a deaf child to learn to read.  It is a bit of tear jerker, but I love it.  I love it because it shows the incredible usefulness of technology when efforts are put into solving meaningful problems and make the world better.

Why build bigger missiles when we can do things like this?
