Regret. Perhaps it’s time.

regret

Regret. Being human means we experience it in our lives. Some more than others, but I haven’t met anyone yet who has never experienced it. No area of life is exempt from the possibility of regret.

And so what happens when we regret sharing our data? Can we go back and ask for the other to delete it? Photos of us that others took appear in places we have no idea about. But what about our personal data – our date of birth, address, name, children’s names, and so on?

And what about the people living with various vulnerabilities that we seek to serve? How much data about them do we have? And when was the last time we checked with them if they had regretted sharing any data with us or our organisation? Or just had any concerns or curiousities about it all?

Perhaps it’s time.
