Principles are useful ways of articulating what we think is important. Creating them opens up spaces for conversations about our values and how to live them out. However, creating and endorsing principles are easy, living them is not.

Often the principles we create clash with each other when we try to live them out. We can seek to reach the most vulnerable and do no harm, but that can clash with our desire for scale and sustainability. This is where the tension lies, but also the space for discussion, for learning.

Too often we are uncomfortable with the tension so we avoid it and the opportunity for learning.

Change makers and courageous leaders are needed to sit in the tension as that is where the magic happens.

The choice is up to us.
