While working with my son, I asked him to find a branch that was 1 inch thick. Problem was, he didn’t know what an inch was. And wasn’t sure about centimetres either unless he had a tape measure. However, accuracy wasn’t super important so I told him the branch needed to be thicker than his thumb. This worked like a charm.
Too often when working with digital transformation, we stick with technical words which the other doesn’t understand. We need to remember, it matters not what we know when we communicate to others. If communication is the aim, others come first.
The choice is up to us.
