The Second Best Time

by | May 19, 2019 | Ideas, Learning

It’s easy to fall into the ‘what if’ trap when we reflect on life or a project. We can spend a lot of energy on hindsight; yet it’s likely a form of hiding.  We can’t change the past, only how we remember it. The past is a sunk cost from which we can learn.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is today. It’s today. Today.

This doesn’t just apply to trees. It’s true for most things. If the idea is still relevant today, then start today.

Plant a tree. Start the company. Go for a run. Begin the project.

Delaying only guarantees you will be looking back in the future wishing you would have planted the tree today. Now’s your chance. It’s up to you. It’s your choice.
