Hindsight is a beautiful thing, but requires us to have gone on a journey. The journey is helped by the belief we will be able to see the dots connected.
‘Reduce the need for them.’ ‘Don’t collect that piece of data.’ Shifting our perspective can help us find answers we never contemplated.
‘I told you so’ is never helpful. It may feel good to say. It may be true. But it is not helpful. It is arrogant.
Getting better almost never happens on your own. We need the others. And we need to try again and be ok with looking silly. Perhaps that’s the hardest part.
Enough is a difficult concept for 5 and 7 year olds, but also for adults. For me. Enough opens us up to gratefulness, which we all need more of.
There is no ‘right’ way for convening. Sometimes having choice is freeing, sometimes it’s overwhelming and paralysing. Sometimes the opposite is true.
Becoming and being a professional doesn’t happen randomly. It doesn’t work to be a professional ‘when you feel like it’ – it is a daily practice.
