A weather map is rarely accurate in every detail. It is not meant to be. It’s meant to give an indication of what might happen. A high probability of happening in fact. But things change. And can change rapidly. Plus it is much easier to give an indication of what the weather will be in an area rather than in my backyard.

The same is true about change. We can give indications of how we want to change, what we want the future to hold. We can even have a good indication of how people and teams will react. But things change even in change. And so it’s easier to give an indication of what how the change will go overall rather than in with specific people. Often we are surprised.

However indications rather than highly accurate maps often are all we need to take the next step. And change is all about momentum and the next step.
