Looking Back

learning

There are great people doing amazing things out there. Here are few things I’ve been reading, learning about, and found inspiration this week.

Reading:

This week I read ‘Do Purpose: Why brands with a purpose do better and matter more’ by David Hieatt. He talks about how the brands we connect with make us feel something and they usually have something they want to change. I’m regularly inspired by Hieatt and the Do Lectures and Hiut Denim company he started with his wife Claire.

I also read ‘No Cure for Being Human‘ by Kate Bowler. It’s a memoir of her cancer journey and the wonderful and dumb things we say to folk on this journey.

Learning:

I’ve been trying to learn about Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAO) and similarities and differences they have to data trusts. And how they might be applied in the humanitarian ecosystem.

Inspiring:

Sancho’s is a black woman owned business in Exeter, UK curating hundreds of ethical brands for you, verifying their sustainable credentials so that you can shop with the peace of mind that you are investing in a greener and more equitable future. They have also partnered with Shwap to empower repair, resale and recycling of all their products sold.

What are you reading, learning about, and is inspiring you?
