Sometimes there is nothing left to say. All has been said. The topic or your view on it has been exhaused. Sometimes there is nothing left to say…that is productive or can be heard. More could be said. You have opinions, ideas, knowledge on the topic that hasn’t been articulated. However, saying it would not be productive, perhaps it even be unproductive.
Leadership, especially change leadership, is making judgements on when to speak up and when to stay silent. Not easy, but part of being a change maker.
This, like many other skills, is a skill. And the good thing about skills is that they can be learnt. We can improve. And we improve through practice.
Today is as good as any to start practicing, to start buidling your ‘silent’ muscle.
You don’t need to have the last word.
