Convening Choices

convening

One option is to have strict schedule. This is the plan for the day and if you don’t like it, too bad. Another option is to have lots of possibilities and you have to choose something. Doing nothing is not an option, but what you do is up to you.

Each option leads to different outcomes and places. In adults and children.

This is true of conferences, camps, and workshops – in person or virtual. Sometimes having choice is freeing, sometimes it’s overwhelming and paralysing. Sometimes having a strict schedule is controlling and terrifying, sometimes it’s freeing.

When we convene a space, the choice is up to us.

There is no ‘right’ way to do it.

Just do it.
