Too often we’ve separated ‘the system’ from ‘the people’. We tend to focus most of our energy on the technical system believing digital will save us. The reductionistic approach rarely works. ‘The system’ needs to be understood, not as separate from ‘the people’ but that people are a part of the system. And not just people, your organisational processes, culture and context are all part of ‘the system’.

Digital transformation can begin in any one of those ‘parts’ but can not happen without all of them. When we try, we always end up frustrated and usually in a blame game. It doesn’t have to be this way.

The choice is up to us.
