Events are the culmination of the work gone in prior. Events are often viewed as binary. We won, we lost is a common framing. And when we view the event through a binary lens we reduce our perspective to the ‘side’ we are on. Remembering there are other stories, other narratives to view the event through can help us see insight we were blind to but that was always there.

This is true of football matches, proposal bids, job interviews, change processes and most of life. Remembering the other views may not come naturally, but is the key to learning.
