I have had multiple zippers break in my favourite pair of jeans. As a child my Mom would try to fix them, but I can still hear her frustrated voice as zippers are notoriously difficult to replace. Buttons are much easier. Therefore, if you are going to offer ‘free repairs for life’ like Hiut Denim does, your jeans are not going to have zippers. Eliminating one point of failure and a difficult one to repair has a bit impact on you and your customers.
In your work, in your project, what are the points of failure? What are the hard ones to fix? Can you change from your metaphorical zipper to a button fly? How would it help you, your team, and your customer?
The choice is up to us.
